Saimaa Cycling Tour 2026

A beautiful night ride (start at 8 PM). Our group consisted of 7 riders, 2 of which were exceptionnally strong riders who stayed at the front for the whole 300km. We had two fairly quick bottle stops.
Had no issues on the fitness front, but suffered a bit from stiff neck, tingling in the fingers of left hand, and had very sore legs afterwards for couple of days.
Training leading to this event was very limited and much lower than what I would have preferred, but life got in the way. My longest ride for the last year was 130km (solo ride, 30 km/h avg), and the number of rides of 100km or longer was 2. Nevertheless, having 100% pullers made this a very pleasant ride.
